Nigeria Police Summons Senior Police Officers To Face Disciplinary Panel In Abuja
In a strong move to uphold internal discipline and ethical standards, the Nigeria Police Force has summoned 151 senior officers before its Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) over various alleged infractions.
The disciplinary session, which kicked off on Monday, 14th July 2025, is scheduled to run until Friday, 25th July, at the IGP Smart Conference Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The officers involved are all of the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police and above were drawn from different commands and formations across the country.
The Force Disciplinary Committee serves as a crucial mechanism for reviewing cases involving misconduct, breaches of professional conduct, and other ethical violations.
The outcomes of these hearings will inform final recommendations to the Police Service Commission.
Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, reiterated his commitment to professionalism within the ranks, stressing that indiscipline will not be tolerated under his watch.
“The Nigeria Police Force remains unwavering in its resolve to maintain integrity and public trust,” the IGP stated, adding that the internal review reflects the Force’s broader goal of building a service-oriented and accountable institution.
The disciplinary process is seen as a significant step towards internal reform, ensuring that the rule of law is respected both within and outside the police structure.
