Eze Dr. O.D. Nwandu Pays Tribute At Lady Catherine Chukwu’s Funeral In Imo State

A deep sense of reverence and unity echoed through Ehime Mbano over the weekend as dignitaries from all walks of life gathered to bid farewell to the late Lady Catherine Chukwu, KSJ fondly known as ‘Ada Zion’.
The funeral, held in Imo State, was a graceful convergence of tradition, faith, and legacy, drawing the presence of top political figures, business leaders, and traditional rulers.
Among the most prominent was His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. Okwudiri Divine Nwandu, Akaraka III of Ihitteaforukwu Ancient Kingdom, who led members of his royal cabinet to honour the life and service of the departed matriarch.
In his moving tribute, Eze Nwandu described Lady Catherine as a woman of deep faith and civic virtue, whose life served as a bridge between generations and communities.
He praised her resilience, kindness, and lasting contribution to family and society framing her story as one steeped in grace and noble lineage.
The ceremony also featured the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Lady Dr. Chinyere Ekomaru, representing Governor Hope Uzodimma, alongside other dignitaries from across Nigeria’s political, business, and traditional spheres.
Eze Nwandu’s presence at the event was not just ceremonial it was symbolic.
Fresh from receiving his official staff of office and winning a landmark court case affirming his reign, the Akaraka III continues to exemplify leadership grounded in justice, cultural preservation, and community upliftment.
Under his watch, Ihitteaforukwu Kingdom has seen peace-building efforts, cultural revival, and increased investment in education.
As the sun set on the day’s solemn rites, it was clear that this was more than a funeral.
It was a tribute to legacy and in true royal fashion, Eze Dr. Nwandu helped weave together heritage, healing, and hope.
