NAF Airstrikes Crush Bandit Convoy In Kebbi–Zamfara Axis

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded another major success in the fight against terrorism, after launching a series of precision airstrikes that decimated a large convoy of armed bandits in the Kebbi–Zamfara corridor.

Acting on real-time intelligence, NAF jets on 9 July 2025 targeted a group of nearly 150 motorcycles carrying armed fighters near Yarbuga in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The operation, conducted under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, led to the neutralisation of scores of terrorists, with survivors seen fleeing under heavy air assault.

Persistent air surveillance allowed for follow-up strikes, further disrupting the bandits’ escape routes.

The next morning, ground troops moved in to mop up and discovered the remains of many fighters, weapons, and several charred motorcycles.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF’s spokesperson, described the mission as a significant blow to terrorist networks in the region.

He reiterated the force’s commitment to safeguarding civilians and supporting ground troops in the quest for peace and security.
