FG Announces First Ever International Civil Service Conference

The Nigerian Civil Service is taking bold steps towards global excellence as it prepares to host the first-ever International Civil Service Conference later this month in Abuja.

Announcing the event during a press briefing, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, revealed that the conference will be the highlight of this year’s Civil Service Week, running from the 20th to the 28th of June.

The two-day summit themed “Rejuvenate, Innovate & Accelerate!”, is expected to draw over 5,000 participants including reformers, public sector leaders, and development partners from across Africa and beyond.

She disclosed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is billed to open the conference on the 25th of June at the Eagle Square while activities for the week also include interfaith prayers, a study tour, wellness events, and an awards ceremony to honour outstanding civil servants.

The Head of Service said the initiative aligns with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and Nigeria’s ongoing civil service reforms under the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan.
