NSIPA Revives Key Programmes After Landmark Payout
In a significant move that signals a fresh wave of support for millions of Nigerians battling poverty, the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) is gearing up to relaunch some of its most impactful interventions including GEEP, N-Power, Grant for Vulnerable Groups (GVG), and the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP).
This renewed vigour follows the successful disbursement of funds to over 1.8 million beneficiaries by the National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO) and the National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO).
The announcement was made by NSIPA’s National Coordinator and CEO, Associate Professor Badamasi Lawal, during the opening of the Agency’s first-ever management workshop held in Abuja on 7th May 2025.
The event themed “Policy Development for Social Investment Programme Agency: Programme Implementation and Structure,” set the tone for strategic reforms in tackling poverty under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Dr Lawal described the Agency’s current position as a “pivotal moment” in Nigeria’s social protection journey, calling for strong policy frameworks, inclusive community participation, and robust institutional collaboration.
He reaffirmed NSIPA’s commitment to aligning with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, pledging effective delivery of programmes that can create lasting change.
The workshop organised in partnership with NEETSGE Nigeria Ltd, covered key aspects of policy formulation, programme synergy, and administrative effectiveness laying the groundwork for a more resilient and impactful social investment system in the country.
