As excitement builds for the 25th edition of the Inter-Secondary Schools Basketball Conference, the President of the Nigerian School Sports Federation (NSSF), Mrs. Olabisi Joseph, has reaffirmed the federation’s unwavering commitment to student welfare.

Speaking during a strategic meeting with center coordinators and key stakeholders at the NSSF Secretariat in Lagos, Joseph emphasised that the well-being of participating students remains at the heart of the federation’s activities.

“Our focus has always been and will continue to be the welfare of the students.

Together with our sponsors, we are working tirelessly to enhance the standard of this championship,” she assured.

Joseph also revealed that extensive preparations have been made to ensure smooth and successful conferences at the four designated centers, as well as an outstanding finale at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, later this year.

She thanked stakeholders for their steadfast support and called on them to maintain the momentum to drive the growth of school sports across the country.

The 2025 conference is set to tip off on May 2 in Kano, featuring spirited competition among boys’ and girls’ teams from ten states: Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, Bauchi, Taraba, Zamfara, Katsina, Adamawa, Gombe, and host state Kano.

Winners from both the boys’ and girls’ categories will proudly represent the Savannah region at the grand finale of the tournament.
