President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that peace and security remain the bedrock of Nigeria’s development, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has said.

Speaking in Abuja at his inauguration as Chairman of the Niger State Development Forum (NSDF), Idris emphasised that national transformation cannot be achieved without security, a principle clearly prioritised by the Tinubu-led administration.

“No meaningful development can take place in the absence of peace and security,” Idris said. “That is why the Federal Government under President Tinubu is sparing no effort, no resource, and no commitment to strengthening our security architecture.”

The NSDF is a non-partisan advisory body set up to support Niger State’s development.

Idris pledged to leverage the expertise of Niger indigenes to partner with Governor Umar Bago in advancing the state’s growth.

Governor Bago, while inaugurating the new board, decried the underdevelopment of communities neighbouring the Federal Capital Territory, despit 75% of its landmass.

He announced plans for a new city near Zuma Rock and a Government House annex, with groundbreaking set for May 29, 2025.

The Forum also welcomed Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, as its Co-Chair, alongside a diverse group of professionals committed to transforming Niger State intomodel of progress.
