In a bold move to modernise Nigeria’s media infrastructure, the Federal Government has commenced the upgrade of equipment across its media organisations, with a focus on adopting cutting-edge broadcast technologies.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this known in Las Vegas, where he is leading a high-level Nigerian delegation at the ongoing 2025 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show.

Speaking during engagements with global broadcast technology companies, Idris said the government is replacing outdated infrastructure and entering strategic partnerships to empower local broadcasters with state-of-the-art equipment and industry-specific training.

“Strategic communication is essential to ensuring that the policies of the Renewed Hope Agenda reach the Nigerian people effectively,” the Minister stated, emphasising the government’s commitment to global collaboration in strengthening Nigeria’s information dissemination systems.

The Minister also toured exhibitions showcasing top-tier studio gear, transmitters, antennas, and AI-driven broadcast tools.

Key industry executives from Kintronic Labs, Axel Technology, SYES, Thomson Broadcast, and Continental Electronics expressed readiness to support Nigeria’s broadcast evolution.

The NAB Show, with the theme “The Technology, The Trend, The Future,” runs from April 5–9 and highlights innovations in AI, the creator economy, sports streaming, and cloud broadcasting.

Idris is accompanied by top media CEOs, including heads of NTA, NAN, NBC, ARCON, and VON, all working to position Nigeria’s media space for a future-ready transformation.
