Air Algerie’s Inaugural Flight Lands in Abuja, Strengthening Nigeria-Algeria Ties
In a historic move to deepen diplomatic and economic relations, Nigeria has welcomed Air Algerie’s inaugural direct flight from Algiers to Abuja.
The maiden flight, set for April 6, 2025, marks the implementation of the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) between the two nations, boosting trade, tourism, and investment opportunities.
The Boeing 737 aircraft, operated by Algeria’s national carrier, signifies a major step in fostering stronger aviation ties and people-to-people exchanges.
On board the inaugural flight will be the Charge d’Affaires of Nigeria’s Embassy in Algiers, representatives of the Algerian government, and leaders of the Nigerian community in Algeria.
With this new route operating twice weekly, Nigerian travelers and businesses now have a more convenient link to Algeria and a strategic gateway to Europe.
The Nigerian government encourages citizens to take full advantage of this enhanced connectivity to¹ explore new trade and cultural opportunities.
This milestone underscores the commitment of both nations to mutual growth, with Nigeria pledging full support to ensure the route’s success and sustainability.
