CDS Musa Condemns Killing of Hunters In Edo, Calls For Calm

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has strongly condemned the tragic killing of hunters in transit through Edo State on March 28, 2025.

Describing the incident as avoidable, General Musa, stressed the importance of proper identification by relevant authorities to prevent such occurrences.

He expressed his condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the bereaved families, and urged Nigerians to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.

The CDS emphasised that security matters should always be handled by the police, military, and other trained agencies.

Assuring the public of justice, the CDS stated that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) will collaborate with the police and other security agencies to apprehend those responsible.

He also reiterated the need for hunters and vigilante groups to register with appropriate authorities and work within the law.

General Musa, called for calm and public support, reaffirming the military’s commitment to safeguarding lives and maintaining national security.
