Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, led a high-level delegation to UROVESA, a Spanish manufacturer of military and industrial vehicles, to explore partnerships in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) technology for Nigeria’s defence and industrial fleets.
Accompanied by key officials, including Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ekperikpe Ekpo, and representatives from the Presidential CNG Initiative, Tuggar emphasised Nigeria’s strong trade ties with Spain, highlighting $3.64 billion in crude oil exports in 2023.
He praised UROVESA’s innovative vehicle solutions and reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to clean energy under President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms.
A statement by the Special Assistant on Media and Communications Strategy to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alkasim Abdulkadir, said the discussions laid the groundwork for a strategic partnership in CNG-powered vehicle production, reinforcing Nigeria’s push for sustainable, cost-effective energy solutions in its defence and industrial sectors.
