In the face of rising security concerns, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has intensified efforts to combat organized crime, achieving notable successes in recent operations.

These breakthroughs moved from dismantling criminal networks in Taraba State to rescuing kidnapped victims in Oyo, reaffirming the force’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, acting on credible intelligence, operatives raided a notorious criminal hideout in Wamunchi dry season rice farms, Taraba, leading to the arrest of 20 male suspects, the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, seven rounds of live ammunition, three Dane guns, a motorcycle, and a bow and arrow.

The suspects are currently in police custody, undergoing profiling and further investigation.

He said in Oyo State, swift police intervention following a kidnapping incident at Agede Village, Moniya, Ibadan, resulted in the rescue of three abductees: Olori Hakimat Sadia (50), Olori Rakyat (45), and Monsuru Ganiyu (20).

The victims, kidnapped from the palace of Baale Tajudeen Inaolaji, were freed following a coordinated response by tactical teams and local security outfits.

One of the suspected kidnappers has been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the rest.

Amid these successes, the police assured the public of their commitment to securing the release of the Afenifere Youth Leader, Prince Eniola Ojajuni, who was abducted on February 17, 2025, while traveling to Abuja.

The Inspector General of Police has deployed the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) to fast-track his rescue and urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information that could jeopardise the operation.

The recent crackdowns serve as a testament to the Nigeria Police Force’s resolve to dismantle criminal syndicates, restore public confidence, and enhance national security.
