Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, has called on Presidents-General (PGs) of town unions to back Governor Charles Soludo’s new security initiative, Operation Udo Ga-Achị, in the fight against crime.

During a meeting with the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU) in Awka, Mefor assured that the government is working tirelessly to secure the state, particularly in areas like Ihiala and Orumba.

He highlighted the launch of the Agunechemba security outfit and a high-tech tracking system, urging PGs to actively participate in security operations as mandated by law.

“This is not about politics—it’s about protecting our communities,” Mefor emphasised, encouraging whistleblowers to report suspicious activities via the 5111 hotline, with rewards and confidentiality guaranteed.

The ASATU National President, Barr. T.A. Akpudo, pledged the PGs’ commitment to supporting the government’s security efforts, ensuring that Anambra remains safe for all.
