The President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Dr. (Mrs.) Elizabeth Egbetokun, has pledged renewed commitment to improving the welfare of police widows and orphans nationwide.

Speaking during a strategic meeting with Senior Police Officers at the POWA Secretariat in Abuja, she unveiled plans to enhance existing welfare initiatives and introduce new empowerment programmes in 2025.

Dr. Egbetokun announced that POWA’s outreach would begin with familiarisation tours to the Imo and Abia State Police Commands, starting Thursday, January 16, 2025.

During the visits, she will launch welfare initiatives designed to uplift the living conditions of police wives and widows in the states, alongside engaging with local POWA members and beneficiaries of its programmes.

The POWA President also emphasised the need for stronger collaboration between the association, the Nigeria Police Force, and other stakeholders to tackle the challenges faced by police families across Nigeria.

With her vision for sustainable support and empowerment, Dr. Egbetokun is setting a tone of hope for families of fallen officers and indigent children within the police community.
