ECOWAS President Calls For Unity, Renewal In His New Year Message

As 2024 comes to a close, the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr Omar Touray, has shared an inspiring message, reflecting on a year marked by challenges to regional peace and stability.
Despite these trials, the commitment to unity and progress within the ECOWAS community remains unwavering Touray highlighted.
Looking ahead to 2025, which marks the 50th anniversary of ECOWAS, the President calls for a renewed spirit of hope and transformation.
He commended the dedication of ECOWAS staff, the support of member state leaders, and the contributions of partners, emphasising collective efforts to create a prosperous and united region.
The message ended with a rallying cry to build an ECOWAS of peace, development, and shared prosperity, embodying the true essence of its people describing the new year, 2025 as a year of renewal and collaboration.
