The federal government of Nigeria proudly joins the global community in celebrating the historic election of Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah as Namibia’s first female president.

This groundbreaking victory marks a significant milestone in Namibia’s democratic journey and the empowerment of women in leadership.

Nandi-Ndaitwah, the current Vice President, emerged victorious in an election overseen by the Electoral Commission of Namibia, ensuring the continued leadership of the SWAPO party, which has been at the helm since the country gained independence.

Hailing the choice of the Namibian people, the Nigerian government commended their commitment to stability and progress.
