As the Anglican Communion, Owerri Diocese, celebrated its 25th Biennial Diocesan Women’s General Conference, Lady Ngozi Anumudu, a prominent member of the Women’s Guild, emphasized the importance of dedication and commitment to God’s service among Christian women.

Speaking to journalists during the three-day conference, which took place at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Obakuru Mbieri, last Sunday, Lady Anumudu expressed her joy over the event’s success. The conference, themed “Woman, Do You Know Him? A True Self-Examination of Your Personal Relationship with Christ,” brought together women from across the diocese.

Lady Anumudu urged participants to embrace the theme’s message and exemplify Christlike behavior in their daily lives. She described women as the pillars of the church, stressing the need for them to live lives worthy of emulation.

“Women should look unto God and dedicate themselves to His service,” she said. “We must all know Christ and embrace Him as our Lord and Savior.”

Highlighting the rewards of following Christ, she encouraged Christian women to commit wholeheartedly to serving Him and humanity.

Lady Anumudu also used the occasion to congratulate Lady Ebere Anorue, the President-General of Amaike Mbieri Autonomous Community, on receiving the prestigious Conference Mother Award. She prayed for God’s guidance upon Lady Anorue to help her fulfill the expectations of her new role.

In her response, Lady Ebere Anorue expressed her gratitude for the honor bestowed upon her by the Owerri Diocesan Bishop. She encouraged women to embrace leadership roles and willingly serve in God’s vineyard as a way of glorifying Christ.

Lady Anorue, who has held various positions in both the church and secular spheres, urged mothers to rise to the challenge of building godly homes. She emphasized the importance of raising children in the fear of God to create a better society.

She concluded by thanking the church for the recognition and promising to continue upholding the values of a godly woman.
