The Super Eagles, after a tensed tournament against Libya, emerged with a 1-0 win, making Nigerians joyful.
The match which was held on Friday evening, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo took off with a very unimpressive effort, as the Super Eagles failed to seize the chances they had to score.
This could be as a result of the fact, that the popular goal scorer of the team, Victor Osimhmen, was absent from the tournament due to injury, many fans were at the verge of loosing hope at the first half of the game, and also the second.
At first, it seemed like it was going to end with a draw. But at the 88th minute, Dele Bashiru, who came in as a substitute, played a nice cross from Moses Simon, which led to the winning goal.
The win was enough to put the Super Eagles in the first position in group D with seven points ahead of Rwanda, Libya and Benin.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles will be back with more action on Tuesday for the second leg against Libya.
