As the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah intensifies, the Nigerian government has begun preparations to evacuate its citizens from Lebanon.
In response to the escalating situation, the Federal Government is committed to ensuring the safety of Nigerians living in the region.
The Nigerian Embassy in Lebanon has been providing regular updates, offering safety advice, and in August 2024, urged Nigerians to consider leaving voluntarily while commercial flights were still available.
Those living in southern Lebanon have already been moved to safer locations, including Beirut, with the help of the Nigerian community.
Thankfully, there have been no Nigerian casualties since the conflict began.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assures Nigerians that the government is actively working with relevant authorities to safely bring citizens back home.
