The Imo state Independent Electoral Commissio ISIEC led by its chairman, Chief Charles Ejiogu has officially declared the just concluded 2024 Imo council elections as Hon Marcel Amadioha and others emerged victorious.
Chief Charles Ejiogu while addressing newsmen at the ISIEC Secretariat Okigwe road on Sunday noted that the commission followed all electoral processes as stipulated in ISIEC guidelines before arriving at the final results obtained; adding that the commission commended the Inter-party Advisory Committee IPAC which is the umbrella body of all political parties for their support and encouragement. He stated that out of the 19 registered political parties, 17 of them participated in the election. ” The election took place in 305 electoral wards, 27 LGAs, and 4758 polling units.”
According to him, the following persons emerged winners of the just concluded 2024 local government council elections, they are all members of the All Progressives Congress APC. Starting from Ngor Okpala LGA, Mrs Chika Ibekwe of the All Progressives Congress APC emerged winner. Orlu LGA – Mr Christian Mbarie; Okigwe LGA – Mrs Nkechi Mbonu; Oguta – Hon Nnani Ifeanyi ; Orsu – Ibekwe Friday, Onuimo- Obi Paul Emeka, Isu – Hon Kenneth Ukah, Ihitte Uboma – Prince Obioha Ndukwe, Obowo – Obioma Ehirim, Ideato South – Hon Ikechukwu Okpara, OhajiEgbema – Marcellinus Chinasa Amadi, Isiala Mbano – Okoroike Israel Chika, Ahiazu Mbaise – Hon Larry Chikwe, Aboh Mbaise – Chief Iheukwumere Alaribe, Ehime Mbano – Chief Uche Nwaodu, Ezinihitte Mbaise – Hon Chinedu Nwachukwu, Ideato North – Arc Chukwunonso Okparaeke, Ikeduru – Hon Justice Nze, Mbaitoli – Hon Ifunanya Nwanebu, Njaba – Chief Vitalis Ugo Obi. Others are Nkwerre – Engr Emmanuel Chukwunyere, Nwangele – Chief Paul Duru, Oru East – Hon Nnamdi Okparaigwe, Oru West – Engr Ikenna Adikaibe, Owerri Municipal – Hon Chidiebere Emeribe, Owerri North – Hon Lucky Abaraonye, and Owerri West – Osigwe Victor.
” For the Councillorship positions, 305 councillors and 4758 polling units APC swept the polls,” he concluded.
Chief Ejiogu said those who felt aggrieved about the outcome of the elections, should seek redress in court.
Earlier in his speech Marcel Amadioha after his declaration at the OhajiEgbema LGA by the ISIEC returning officer thanked the OhajiEgbema voters for finding him worthy for the position of the Executive chairman of the LGA and promised to run an all-inclusive government with transparency, accountability, and equity as its watchwords. He also promised to engender both human and infrastructural development to his people.
