Imo APC Primaries: Izombe Oguta Boils To Stop Usman David, Relies On Gov.Uzodimma For Equity

By Onuchukwu Hamilton.

Just few minutes to the online publication of the alleged names as APC candidates for the Imo State Local Government Council election slated to hold on the 21st of September, the people of Ndilukwu/ Umuowerri Ward of Izombe in Oguta LGA, became aggrieved and vow to stop one Usman David Nwauwa that was spotted on the list of councilors for Oguta LGA with the believe that the leader of the party and Governor of the State, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma will support their demand for equity and inclusiveness.

Fielding questions from newsmen who were in the area to ascertain the pulse of the disptants and the reasons for the the protest against Mr. Usman David Nwanwa, one the community helmsmen, that gave his name as Hon. Okafor Nwandu, stated that the said lists of councilors, has provoked his people and also created more tension in the area because the said Usman is reportedly not their choice and by political zoning, his area that has only one polling unit, is not expected to produce a councillor at this time. He further lamented whoever is sponsoring Mr. Usman David, should have known that the socio- political bloc to produce the councillor, is the marginalized bloc which is Umuoharaji bloc with Hon. Wisdom Obioma Nwauwa as the most popular choice because it is still on record that the bloc where Mr. Usman David hails , has taken their own turn through their late father.

Also according to him, this is one community with one INEC ward and only two blocs. Mr. Usman David’s bloc has only one polling unit but his brother Hon. Hassan was the immediate past SA to the Governor, his immediate younger brother Mr. Ibrahim has been the President General of the Community for fifteen years.

“They are now lobbying for their last born to also become a councillor when the other side of the bloc with eight polling units have been starved.

There is need to remind us that the imposition of a wrong leader on the people , spreads insecurity and destroys the possibility of development as trust is broken between the rejected leader and the electorate. And in order to survive, people will try whatever means to circumvent due process and overtime, this will lead to insecurity.
