The candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the forthcoming Imo local government election, High Chief Collins Osuagwu (Phd) has promised that if elected as the Executive Chairman of Isiala Mbano LGA, his administration would ensure a holistic grassroot development of the council area that would translate into improved standard of living of the people, youth development/ engagement and improved security of lives and property.
Osuagwu made these remarks on Sunday, august 25, during an interaction with stakeholders and some leaders of Isiala Mbano who visited him to affirm their support for his aspiration.
The ADC candidate blamed the poor state of economic and infrastructural development of Isiala Mbano LGA on rudderless leadership in the richly endowed local government over the years, promising a paradigm shift in leadership and administration that would touch lives at the grassroots.
He called on all the people of Isiala Mbano to properly assess the candidates that would drive the affairs of the local government for the next four years and not allow themselves to be driven by sentiments that could only lead to further impoverishment of the people.
Also speaking, one of the coordinators of the Collins Osuagwu Campaign Organization, Nze Alex Ohanweh urged the leaders to put party affiliations aside and work for the betterment of Isiala Mbano LGA, by throwing their weight behind Chief Osuagwu, who he described as their illustrious son with the needed capacity to turn the fortunes of the LGA, if elected.
Ohanweh maintained that Chief Osuagwu had already demonstrated capacity on a personal level by touching many lives in Isiala Mbano and beyond through the Collins Osuagwu Foundation, hence the need to support him to become the Executive Chairman of the council area.
In reaction, many of the stakeholders and leaders who spoke informed that their visit was to assure Chief Osuagwu of their support, adding that they had no doubt of his sincerity and integrity in seeking to become the Executive Chairman of their LGA
