Niger Delta Journalists Association Hails Gov Uzodinma’s Supreme Court Victory …Says It Is  Victory For Democracy

A renowned media group and the voice of the Niger Delta people in Imo state known as Niger Delta Journalists Association (NDJA) has hailed the judgement of the supreme court of Nigeria which affirmed the reelection of Governor Hope Uzodinma for the second term in office.

The group stated that the judgement was a victory for democracy and rule of law. Adding that it establishes confidence in the judiciary.

In a Press Release signed by its President, Austin Okoro and Secretary, Basil Ukwuegbu and made available to the press recently it stated that:

“The overwhelming victory of Governor Hope Uzodinma during the November 11th 2023 governorship elections in the 27 local government areas of Imo state was a clear victory even clearer for even a layman or a blind man to see.

“The judgement gave a fresh hope to a common man who may not have the wherewithal to contest his victory in any court of competent Jurisdiction. The supreme court spoke the minds of the Imo citizens who overwhelmingly voted for Senator Hope Uzodinma at the polls. And it also shows that Governor Hope Uzodinma’s governorship bid is divine.

“We therefore congratulate him and urge all Imo citizens in both home and diaspora to support him to continue the good works he has been doing for Imo people.

“We call on the opposition political parties, especially the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and the Labour party LP to join hands with him in making sure that good governance and the dividends of democracy come to Imo state. We urge them to criticize constructively where he is going wrong, and should offer solutions that would lead to the success of Imo state in general, ” the statement read.
