Land Grabbing Schemes: Group in Ngor-Okpala Condemns Reports Against Barr. Onuegbu As Malicious, False

By Onuchukwu Hamilton.

Following a recent press release by one Mr. Anyanwu Chikadibia and his team who alleged that the Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor on political/Bureau matters, Barr. Enyinnaya Onuegbu, is aiding one Mr Morocco on Land acquisition, a nonpartisan group in the area called Ngor-Okpala Progressive Assembly, has described Barr. Onuegbu as a man of impeccable character and therefore advised all and sundry to disregard the publication as false and mischievous.

In a well detailed account, the leader of the group Comrade Leonard Enwere submits that whatever that transpires in the said land at Umumgba , Obioma.Community, was just between one Mr. Anyanwu Chikadibia’s team and his relatives who are supporting the PWAN private Company land agent called Chief Morocco.

Two villages he said, were disputing over the land, the side led by Mr. Anyanwu lost the case at both the lower court and the appeal court. The side that won the case apparently entered into the land with Chief Morocco for a transaction with PWAN private Company but Mr. Anyanwu and his team that lost, resorted to attack them physically instead of approaching the court. They also decided to blackmail the good image of Barr. Onuegbu for reasons that are unknown to Barr. Onuegbu and the people of Ngor-Okpala LGA.

According to Comrade Leonard, the manipulated video clip linking Barr. Onuegbu to the unsubstantiated allegations of landgrabbing schemes, is just a failed ploy, to lower him in the estimation of the right-thinking members of the public. To cause him to be shunned or avoided, to expose him to hatred, contempt or ridicule. ”It is unfortunate that the online platform, did not balance the report but, am happy that the media ethics and the amended media laws provide that anyone injured by inaccurate or offensive statements or ideas disseminated to the public in general by a legally regulated medium of communication, has the right to reply or to make corrections using the same communication outlet.

Confirming the evidence account by Comrade Leonard at press time, the Land agent, Chief Morocco, yielded that Barr. Onuegbu has been never involved in all the Land Transactions between PWAN which is a private Company and Ngor-Okpala Communities. While the efforts to hear from Mr. Anyanwu yielded no useful result as his phones connected without any response.

However, with the statement from the duo of Mr. Morocco and Comrade Leonard, it is imperative to ascertain if Mr. Anyanwu has any circumstancial defence to his claims.
