The foremost Local government chairmanship aspirant in OhajiEgbema, Hon. Prince Stephen Lemachi has promised to revamp OhajiEgbema if he takes over the LGA as its chairman.
He stated this while addressing newsmen during the official inauguration of the ward campaign coordinators of Prince Lemachi Campaign council for the upcoming September 21st local government elections at Umuapu OhajiEgbema on Sunday.
Prince Lemachi who was elated and overwhelmed by the large crowd of OhajiEgbema electorates who came to honour him despite the short notice of their invitation, promised to revamp the entire LGA if elected the executive chairman of the local government. ” I believe God that by the time I take over the LGA, we are going to revamp the local government totally,” he stated.
Lemachi who hails from Awarra Ikwerrede ward in OhajiEgbema LGA noted that the essence of the meeting was to inaugurate his ward campaign coordinators who will oversee the affairs of his campaign at the grassroot level. He charged the coordinators to go home to their various communities and preach the good gospel of his chairmanship to them.
Hon. Pastor Emeka Nwulu who is the spokesman of the campaign council said they came for the inauguration of the ward campaign coordinators who are three(3) persons per ward from the twelve(12) wards in OhajiEgbema, and to ensure that they go home and let every person know about Hon Prince Lemachi’s chairmanship aspiration and his readiness in becoming the Chairman of OhajiEgbema LGA. He noted that from the looks of things OhajiEgbema electorates are already clamouring for him and are ready to vote him in.
Nwulu a media practitioner and former representative of Awarra/ Ikwerrede ward at the Imo state Oil Producing Areas Development Commission ISOPADEC described Prince Lemachi as a courageous man, fearless and someone who can say the truth no matter who is involved; adding that he loves to empower people. ” He can remold you and give you a chance of becoming something in life. Let the people at the grassroot come out en masse the day of the primary elections to vote for him so that at the end of the day they will enjoy the dividends of democracy,” he asserted.
Hon. Golden Nwokoma while inaugurating the ward coordinators charged them to do the work at the best of their abilities as they would not regret it. ” You are being recognized in your absence shows that you have quality and that whatever you are doing, you are doing it well. OhajiEgbema people have recognized you as leaders in your various wards. This election is very dear to us, so do your best for the work given to you as it can take you to a higher height,” he stated.
Hon Chris Ariaga in his speech said he was overwhelmed with the crowd that came and that he didn’t know Hon Lemachi is grassroot oriented, adding that with the crowd he saw at the meeting, Hon Lemachi has won. He urged his supporters to monitor those writing the results to protect their votes ” I have no doubt about his capacity to lead the LGA as it’s chairman, I congratulate him,” he noted.
One of Councillorship aspirants, Snr Comrade Barth Umah said Prince Lemachi and himself are well prepared for the positions and urged the electorates to vote them in as they will deliver.
Many dignitaries from OhajiEgbema honoured the event including Councillorship aspirants, GLOs, APC ward chairmen of OhajiEgbema, women group, youth groups etcetera.
The names of some of the ward campaign coordinators inaugurated included Madu Osimiri, Okechukwu Ikechi, Paschal Orunwa for Awarra/Ikwerrede ward; Elijah Ogbuehi, Amselem Alihie, Amadi Charity Chinaza for Umuapu ward; Nwali Anthony, Victor Osita, Amadi – Obitti/ Mgbuisii ward; Stanley Enyia, Nwadike Stanley Ability – Assa/Obile ward; Iheanyi Eke, Fabian Nwaneshi, Ekene Noble – Ekwuato ward; Nwabueze Chibuzor , Kelechi Oloko, Nwoke Chigozie- Umuagwo ward; Gilbert Nwanorim – Ohoba ward; Anene All, Nzeribe Matilda, Emeghara Declan – Egbema ward A; Ifeanyi Obidike – Egbema ward B, David Akubuike, Obidike Ifeanyi- Egbema ward C; Chidi Collins Okoro – Egbema ward D; Achilike Nwagboa, Chukwuemeka Nwokocha – Egbema ward E, amongst others.
