Following the outcome of an Investigative Panel constituted by the Irete Community Development Union (I.C.D.U) in response to a petition by the Irete Youth Association ( I.Y.A) demanding the investigation of their president,
Mr. Ezichi Nshimole over allegations of embezzlement of funds, abuse of office and breach of the I.Y.A. constitution which resulted in his suspension from office while the investigation was in process, the Irete Youth Association, guided by the provisions of their constitution as contained in Article 18 and the recommendations of the investigative panel have found the suspended I.Y.A. president guilty of embezzlement of the association’s funds amounting to one million, eight hundred and six thousand naira ( N 1, 806, 000).
This is contained in a communique dated July 21, 2024 and titled, ” Impeachment of the suspended president of the Irete Youth Association ( I. Y. A), Mr. Ezichi Nshimole and the conduct of election within 30 days”.
In line with this development and according to the constitution of the Irete Youth Association, Owerri west LGA, the embattled former president has been given 30 days from the date of publication of this communique to refund the said embezzled funds, according to the recommendations of the Investigative Panel.
In addition, the I.Y.A. informs that they would be conducting a bye- election into the office of the president which is now vacant within 30 days of issuing this communique. Elections would also hold into the offices of the Disciplinary Officer and Auditor.
The communique which has been forwarded to the appropriate administrative bodies of Irete Community was signed by the following elected Executive Council members of I. Y.A.: Chiazor Iwuala ( Vice President 2), Goodluck Anugwolu( Sec. Gen.), Prince ( Treasurer), Donald Umanze( p.R.O), Samuel Akuneme( Provost), Stephen Okenwa(Fin. Sec), Chigemezu Chikezie( Asst. Sec. Gen) and all the village youth executive council members.
