The Armed Forces of Nigeria, AFN, is dedicated to supporting and strengthening democracy for the benefit of all Nigerians
The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Christopher Musa, who affirmed this, reiterated the unwavering commitment and loyalty of AFN to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the President, Commander-in-Chief.
In a press statement, signed by the Acting Director, Defence Information, DDI, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the CDS, pledged that the Nigerian military shall continue to collaborate with national and sub-national institutions to entrench constitutional governance.
General Musa applauded the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces in various theatres of operation across the country, which he said is the evidence of their commitment to the unity and growth of Nigeria.
He urged military personnel to uphold the tenets of democracy, safeguard citizens’ rights, and ensure a peaceful and secure environment for all.
General Musa appealed to the citizens to remain positive despite challenges and support the Armed Forces of Nigeria in its fight against all acts of terrorism and criminality as victory is already in sight.
The CDS, extended warm felicitations to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all Nigerians on the occasion of democracy day celebration.
