Uzodinma cuts tuition fees on agric course by 50%…as more students get admission in UAES

Imo State Governor, Dist. Senator Hope Uzodinma has directed that tuition fees for those studying agriculture in University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences,(UAES), Umuagwo be cut by 50%.

The information was disclosed by the Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Christopher C Eze during the 2023/2024 matriculation Ceremony of the institution.

Prof Eze who appealed the students to utilize the opportunity offered the state governor also informed that the institution admitted more students for 2023/2024 academic session than in previous session urging them to shun all forms deviant behaviours and other vices.

His speech partly reads,’ It is our intention that in 4 and 5 years, by the grace of God, we shall gather again for your convocation ceremony. I therefore charge you to make the most of the opportunity afforded you by our university and your parents/ guardians to ensure that you attend classes, shun all forms of deviant behaviours and other vices and focus on why you are here

“UAES has zero tolerance for any form of misconduct including examination malpractices, cultism, unruly and violent behaviour, keeping late night, prostitution,internet fraud, armed robbery, drug addiction, kidnapping stealing hooliganism, wilful destruction of the university property, drunkenness, gambling,cohabitation, indecent dressing among others and we will not hesitate to sanction any misdemeanor. Do not engage in anything that will bring regrets at your latter life.

Earlier, the VC who described the university as not only student centred, but also robust boot camp for nurturing the next generation of informed leaders urged the students not only to see their admission just as an achievement in their educational career but as a means in unlocking their true potentials.

He maintained’ we dream to make you highflyers with capacity to catalyze innovative, entrepreneurial and scientific transformation in your different fields of pursuits.

He further stated, Matriculation Ceremony today, 471(four hundred and seventy one) students will be inducted into either the 4 (four) or 5(five) year programmes of the five Faculties of the University namely Agriculture,Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Science and Computing and Faculty of Arts, Social and Management Sciences adding that this year’s admission is more in number than last year’s.
