Imo APC receives over 200 support groups on Uzodimma’s re-election

All Progressives Congress leadership in Imo state has received over 200 support groups into the party to work for the reelection of Imo state governor, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodinma.

The statement was made by the State Organizing Secretary of the party, Hon. Iyke Umeh while receiving a group Youths and Amazons for Hope at the party secretariat recently

Hon Umqeh commended the group for joining over 200 support groups ,numerous members of the party and the larger number of Imo people to rally support for the reelection of governor. Describing the governor as a man with a good heart towards changing the narrative in the state he explicitly vowed that imo people would have date with massive developmental projects as soon as the governor was reelected.

The former Commissioner for Science and Technology urged all the support groups to remain focused, supportive and steadfast assuring that they will access all benefits ceded to every member of the party.

It will be recalled Youths and Amazons, a support group whose membership cut across the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo state, had campaigned vigorously for LP presidential candidate in February general election due to what it described as the impeccable credentials of the party flagbearer.

Speaking during the group’s declaration of support for Governor Uzodinma, at All Progressives Congress State Secretariat, convener of the group, Mrs Akagha Perpetual noted that the group worked for the presidential candidate of Labour Party Mr. Peter Obi because of his integrity but decided to work for Governor Hope Uzodinma due to his superlative achievements within the four years.
In her words,’ we are collapsing the group into APC since the presidential election has gone to support the most performing governor. Governor Hope Uzodinma is the most credible of all the candidates for governorship seat. He attracted the upgrading of Alvan Ikoku to Federal College of Education, Imo state polytechnic to University of Agriculture and Environmental Studies, and Federal Medical Centre to Federal University Teaching Hospital.

‘We have come to deliver him so that he can go on to give the people of the state more dividends of democracy. We have strongholds in all the 27 Local government Areas of the state”

Also speaking, a leader in the group, Austin Azubuike stated that apart from the good governance which the governor stands for, he is the most qualified candidate even as he described the governor as the most disposed to propagate the doctrine of charter of equity.
