Jubilation, as Election Petition Tribunal upholds   Tony Nwoye’s victory

The petition of Senator Stella Oduah and that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenging the victory of Dr Tony Nwoye of the Labour Party in the February 25, 2023 National Assembly Election has been dismissed by the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Awka, Anambra State capital for lack of merit.
The PDP and its candidate, Senator Oduah, had in a consolidated petition: EPT/AN/SEN/1/2023 & EPT/AN/SEN/2/2023, challenged the declaration of Dr Tony Nwoye as the validly elected Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial district by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Election petition Tribunal hoeever, in a significant ruling, upheld the victory of Dr Tony Nwoye and the Labour Party in the Anambra North Senatorial election held on February 25th, 2023 and dismissed the case for lack of merit.
The ruling has triggered celebrations among supporters Of Dr Tony Nwoye and good people of Anambra North.
Responding to the judgment, some supporters of Senator Tony Nwoye who were obviously jubilant said the judgment has reaffirmed their commitment and trust in voting Dr Tony Nwoye in the February election as he was truly declared by INEC.
They emphasised that the victory was for the good people of Anambra North Senatorial district, Labour Party and ndi Anambra in general as well as victory for the election processes.
Having scored 94,779 votes to defeat the closet rival, Senator Stella Oduah, who polled a total of 50,146 votes Dr Tony Nwoye of the Labour Party was declared winner of Senatorial district in the election.
