Two Anambra candidates that vied for different positions at the 2023 annual general meeting of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, emerged victorious in the polls.
Dr Ike Neliaku, from Enugwu Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area but of the FCT chapter emerged President and Council Chairman, while the immediate past Commissioner for Education in Anambra State, and of Anambra chapter, Prof Kate Omenugha was elected a Council member.
Dr Neliaku was unanimously elected by the Council’s electoral college, while Professor Omenugha clinched the position following high votes polled at the election.
It will be recalled that ndi Anambra had ahead of the AGM, convened a pre-event party to present their candidates to the people alongside other council members.
Those elected are to man the affairs of the institute for the next two years.
Earlier at the Anambra night ahead of the AGM, which included counfernece and Elections, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by the Commissioner for Information, Mr Paul Nwosu, had restated his resolve to work with the institute and that the theme of the NIPR national conference 2023 agrees with the ideals of his administration.
He had also pledged support for the candidature of the duo, Professor Kate Omenugha and Dr Ike Neliaku for national president of NIPR.
