Ikenga Johnjude Okere: Profile of the man to salvage Imo

By Udo Chukwu Kay Cee

The current state of political affairs in Imo State is expressly similar to the unmitigated failure prevalent in the Nigerian body politic today. To be precise, Imo State and her politics reflect, in smaller measure and in all ramifications, the sordid, abysmal and unequal condition of the entire political entity called Nigeria.
The two most important issues needed for the progress and smooth running of the Nigerian state and Imo in particular are competence and equity. The absence of these two key factors have given rise to the rule by quacks, political plunderers cum marauders, ethnic and religious bigots as well as middle and upper criminals all over Imo State and Nigeria as a country.
The long overdue but effective earth shattering political statement effected by the OBIdient Movement that shook the Nigerian political horizon like a whirlwind during the last few months leading to the 2023 general elections, was anchored to a great extent on the competence, spartan like and uncompromising character of Mr Peter Obi, who was ably supported by other equally competent men and women of repute.
One of such men who drove the Obi philosophy and dreams in Imo State was Ikenga Johnjude Okere whose sterling leadership, advocacy roles and courage were pivotal in making Imo the most OBIdiently charged state in Nigeria.
In spreading Obidient Movement in Imo, Ikenga Johnjude anchored his message on merit, new order of doing things and doing them rightly and courageously notwithstanding the odds or challenges. He called for a comprehensive as well as systematic change in the political structure to give room for performance and good result.
The prodigiously intelligent and upwardly mobile business cum political leader was born to Ezinna linus and Ezinne Angelina Okere of Ihitte Okwe Ancient kingdom in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area on May 31, 1974.The young Jonjude attended one of the best primary schools in Nigeria, the Alvan Ikoku College of Education Primary School, here in Owerri. At Alvan, Johnjude distinguished himself as an all round accomplished pupil.
Ever evangelical, his parents sent him to the the famous St Peter Claver Seminary Opkala for his secondary education. It was at Okpala youngish and enterprising Johnjude proved beyond all reasonable doubts that he was a future leader and one who could account creditably about all responsibilities vested in him as he was one of those who discharged ones duties commendably.
After his Okpala sojourn, Johnjude subsequently obtained a Higher National Diploma from the Federal Polytechnic Auchi. He also holds a multi-title authorship of 20 primary and secondary school textbooks.
As a successful entrepreneur, he is currently the chief executive officer of Artfield Limited, a creative design and print solution company with special interest in brand creation and management.
It must be highlighted that, of all the governorship candidates in Imo today, non can be equated with the Oshieze (Kingmaker) of Ihitte Okwe Ancient Kingdom in the very important areas of integrity, passionate disposition to public affairs, transparency and developmental advocacy.
The candidacy Of Ikenga Jon Jude Okere on the platform of Accord party provides Imolites the rare opportunity to vote for a man who will make the state a better place for all without compromising the ingredients of governance. In all, as a man of competence, character and capacity, he will base his actions in government on merit, equity, justice and fairness and this will inturn promote massive infrastructural development.
Not given to frivolities, Ikenga Johnjude Okere will ensure that all the maladies threatening the foundation of Imo State are halted for meaningful and even growth. He is ready. He is experienced. He is exposed.
