A former House of Assembly aspirant, Hon. Kelechi Anoruo was among chieftains of the people’s Democratic party (PDP), All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and Labour Party (LP) who defected to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Imo State on Monday
Speaking to journalist after his name was officially announced during a grand ceremony at the Ndubuise Kanu Square in Owerri, Anoruo, who contested for the Owerri Municipal State Constituency seat under the platform of PDP, explained that he joined APC to add value to the party and to move his political career forward
According to him, he joined APC with his teeming supporters to make the party stronger, expressing optimism that he will deliver
Anoruo, who hails from Ikenegbu ward, used the opportunity to pledge his total support for Governor Hope Uzodinma, who he said, has built a very strong structure
The former aspirant maintained that Governor Uzodinma has capacity and has performed very well, having delivered in Orlu, Owerri and Okigwe Zones
Anoruo stated that Governor Uzodinma will win the November 11 guber polls in Imo because no other party can challenge APC
Lending his voice, one of his allies, Opara Onyekachi expressed pleasure of the new development, adding that Anoruo would have made more impact if he had joined APC earlier.
He also maintained that they will give the Governor maximum support
