Troops In Various Theatres Of Operation Showcase Mastery

The Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami, says troops in the South South Zone of the country, denied oil thieves the sum of Two Hundred and Twenty Two Million Three Hundred, Thirty Eight Thousand Four Hundred and Thirty in the Zone.
Danmadami, who was speaking at the biweekly briefing on troops activities and operational successes recorded in the various operational theaters within the 6 geo-political zones of the Country, noted that in the past 2 weeks, both kinetic and non-kinetic operations were conducted in the various theatres of operations, with significant results.
The brief covered operational activities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies conducted in addressing the various security challenges across the Country between the period of 9 – 23 February 2023.
The Director Defence Media Operations, stated that troops of operation Delta Safe in the conduct of Operation OCTOPUS GRIP and other operations in the South South Zone, within the weeks in review discovered and destroyed 61 illegal refining sites, 289 storage tanks, 167 ovens, 19 dugout pits, and 13 wooden boats.
He said the troops equally recovered 250,500 litres of Automotive Gas Oil, 75,000 litres of crude oil, 2,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit, 20 assorted weapons, 359 variety of ammunition, 10 vehicles, 2 speedboat, 2 pumping machines and 2 outboard engine, while a total of 142 suspected criminals were arrested.
Danmadami, disclosed that all recovered items and apprehended suspects have been handed over to the appropriate authority for further action.
According to him, in the South East zone, troops of the joint task force, Operation UDO KA have sustained the fight against all forms of terrorist networks with the aim of restoring peace and normalcy in the Zone.
He also conveyed the military high command’s commendations on troops, other security agencies and partners in their efforts in the various theatres of operations across the country, to make the environment safer for inhabitants.
