Troops Heighten Onslaught Against Terrorists, Neutralise 10 Bandits

Troops of Operation Forest Sanity on fighting patrol and clearance operation have neutralized a total of 10 terrorists and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in Katsina, Kebbi and Zamfara states.
The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami, who made this known in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, said the troops had on Tuesday eliminated two terrorists and recovered two AK47 rifles and three MCs in a fire fight along Maidabino-Danmusa Road in Katsina State.
He said the troops also encountered terrorists at Dangeza village on Wednesday neutralizing one terrorist and recovering one AK 47 rifle mounted on a motorcycle with two magazines, and one Baofeng HHR.
According to him, on the same day, troops conducted clearance operations to Malekachi, Munhaye, Awala, Mairairai, Kabari villages in Danko-Wasagu and Maru Local Government Areas of Kebbi and Zamfara States, respectively and troops made contact with terrorists at various locations and a firefight ensued following which the troops neutralised seven terrorists, and recovered four vehicles and eight motorcycles which were destroyed.
Troops also recovered three AK 47 rifles, one SMG, 32 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one Baofeng radio, two laptops and 10 mobile phones, among other items.
He said the military high command commends troops of Op Forest Sanity and encourages the general public to avail troops with credible and timely information on criminal activities.
