India Set To Host Voice Of Global South Summit

India says it is ready to host over 120 countries at the voice of Global South Summit holding 12th to 13th January, 2023.

 

The two day virtual summit with the theme, “Unity of voice, unity of purpose” is aimed at bringing countries of the global South together to share their perspectives and priorities on a common platform.

 

The initiative is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, underpinned by India’s philosophy.

 

A statement released by the India High Commission in Abuja, says India will work to ensure that valuable inputs generated from partner countries during deliberations at the summit, receive due cognizance globally.

 

The statement notes that India’s presidency of the G-20 provides a special and strong opportunity for countries that are not part of the G-20 process to share their ideas and expectations from the G-20.

 

The summit expected to hold in 10 sessions, would be attended by leaders, heads of states, ministers among others.

 

It will treat topics such as financing people centric development, balancing growth with environment friendly lifestyle, priorities of the global South ensuring a conducive environment among many others.
