Do The Needful Else…Constituents Tell House Member

Uwokwu United Forum, (UUF), has called on the member representing Oju/Obi Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon ourable Samson Okwu to execute the Uwokwu Rural Electrification Project and other projects that are due for Uwokwu land.
In a letter tagged Uwokwu Rural Electrification Project and signed by the Chairman of the group, Evang Pat Akobo Ulaka, reminded the House member that the Uwokwu Rural Electrification project was among other community projects in the 2020/2021 federal government approved budget to be executed as his constituency projects for the budget year.
The letter however, noted that the Project expected to cover about thirteen kilometers from Ebenta Uwokwu to Ihio Edii but had unfortunately, Ucho Ain, which should be the main source from which light will be connected has not been linked to Ebenta.
The letter further reads:
“I am forced to write this open Letter because all my personal calls and appeals to draw your attention to above subject matter have been treated with levity and calculated silence.
So far, less than one kilometer of the project has been done since its execution started few years ago. It has been abandoned since then which is against the original plan of the federal government for the good people of Uwokwu Community.
We reliably learnt that #50Million has been released to that effect but one can hardly see a #10million project on the ground”.
It continued:
“It is against this background that I ask you RT HON SAMSON OKWU, what is the sin of Uwokwu that you have decided to turn your back on us? Other members of House of Representatives from other constitutencies have electrified their areas of political representation, and they are still using their good offices to attract such projects to their constitutencies. But in your own case, you have decided to do otherwise even when a handsome budget has been made available for the project?
Rt Hon Sir, is it a sin for Uwokwu to have contributed a large chunk of votes that gave you victory into your present office? We gave you our votes because of our love for you and the trust bestowed on you to deliver the dividends of democracy which you promised us.
Whatever is our sin to you, we are making this final appeal to you to please ensure that the Uwokwu Rural Electrification Project which you promised us of its readiness by November 2021 is completed speedily especially now that it is in the public domain and as more money has been released for the completion of the project”.
“God has given you the opportunity to write your name in gold by executing the project but we have been inundated with promises from you of finishing the project as soon as possible, please, let your action speak more.
This is written in good faith and we hope it propel your good will to execute the Uwokwu Rural Electrification Project and other projects that are due for Uwokwu land.
Remember, the status quo has changed, it can no longer be business as usual, the UWOKWU UNITED FORUM, (UUF) has risen up to ensure that our leaders deliver on their promises, and this sir is our humble request”. The letter concluded.
