UN Partners Nigeria Army On Leadership Training

The United Nations International Peace and Governance Council says it will partner the Nigeria Army Institute of Science and Education to organize a three days International Masterclass on leadership, sustainable peace building, inclusive governance, conflict mamagement and alternate dispute resolution.

The masterclass, according to a statement signed by the Director, Media and Communications, Fatimah Ibrahim, is scheduled ahead of the Pan African Leadership Symposium on 19th August, 2022.

The statement notes the MasterClass will address the trend of violent conflicts which has been on the rise for several years in Africa and Nigeria in particular

It stressed that some of the factors responsible for violence are common to all communities in Africa while some are mainly attributable to the prevailing circumstances playing out in such communities

It further stated that in recognition of the prevailing challenges, many societies including Arise O Nigeria, Highstone International University, USA, and the Nigerian Army Institute of Science, Education and Technology, Ilorin, Kwara State are partnering the UN International Peace and Governance Council for a 5day executive master class training, saying that participants of the training will be inducted as fellows of IPGC AFRICA for Peace, Research and Diplomacy.

The statement counted aquiring relevant capacities for mapping out graphically conflict situations, conflict designs dynamics, structures and ontologies for decision making in a community, developing basic negotiation skills for conflict resolution in a community, domesticating some negotiation designs for community peace building in Nigeria and Africa at large as some of the objectives of the training.
