All seem not to be well with Imo State People’s Democratic Party, PDP as Chief Aloy Igwe, the declared winner of the party’s May 26th, 2022 Orlu/ Orsu/Oru East Federal Constituency of the party is describing yesterday repeat primary of the Federal constituency as “a disaster to democracy and totally unacceptable to me”.
Igwe disclosed this to news men in Owerri while reacting through the phone about the ongoing plans to conduct the bye election of the Federal Constituency primary at the political party State Secretariat along Okigwe Road, Owerri last Sunday.
The aggrevied politician pointed out that they were 5 aspirants that contested the party’s Federal Constituency primary that was held on the 26th of May, 2022.
The keenly contested primary election he said was held at Aladimma Mall, Owerri and the conduct was attested to be free, fair and credible by all the stakeholders that participated which includes party delegates and members, observers,INEC, press, Security agencies and non governmental bodies among others, therefore, he insisted that justice demands that there’s no rationale for any repeat primary election for the Federal Constituency.
According to the astute politician” heaven and earth knows that the primary election conducted on the 26th of May, 2022 in which 5 of us as aspirants contested, that is, myself Chief Aloysius Igwe, Chief Uchenna Odunze, Hon.Edwin Okorie, Chief Augustine Okeke and Mr. Kingsley Onyegbule(King Soul) was transparently conducted. Five of us actively and keenly contested the primary and at the end of the day I won with 39 votes as against Onyegbule’s 36 votes Interestingly, the three other contestants congratulated me and happily shocked hands with me except Onyegbule.
Honestly, this is an eyesore because it’s an election INEC, Security agencies, the press and non governmental organizations were actively involved and happily endorsed the results of the election as credible and transparent” Igwe reported.
The political icon also reported that 4 of them vehemently protested against conducting the bye election to both the state and national leadership of the party and it was only Mr. Kingsley Onyegbule that supported the political abberation despite INEC, security agenc
