Political parties again seek adjustment To 2023 election timetable

The Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, has once again implored the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to modify its Timetable and Schedule for the 2023 General elections.

The Chairman of IPAC, Engineer Yabagi Sanni, who spoke on behalf of the group, said a little shift in the Timetable, will give Parties more time for preparation and engagement for a rancor-free primaries.

Also, Dan Nwanyawu of the Zenith Labour Party, re- echoed the need for INEC to consider their plea and shift the deadline from 3rd to the 10th of June.

The Chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu on his part, said with the modification, it appears the proposition is different from the previous requests which had asked for extensions between 37 and 60 days

The Chairman, noted that the position of the commission has not changed as such request will not be entertained in view of the overlapping activities contained In the timeline and will discuss further to understand the basis for requesting for the little adjustment and there after, issue a statement on its stance if need be.
