All Progressives Congress Youths Taraba State Chapter, trooped out en masse to protest against what it called a campaign of calumny and character assassination against the Chairman All Progressives Congress of Taraba State Hon. Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi by groups parading themselves as APC EXCO at the APC National Secretariat Abuja.
The group, led by its chairman, Adamu Y. Garba, condemned the activities of some political leaders who according to them are hellbent to satisfy their selfish interest against the overall interest of the party in the state and unnecessarily heating up the political atmosphere in the party by sponsoring unwarranted and frivolous protest against the chairman.
They said it is highly disheartening that people who are supposed to be elderstatemen in the party are sponsoring campaign of calumny against the sitting Chairman at a time that they should join forces to send the opposition party, PDP, packing from Taraba State government house.
The group also noted that a sponsored media engagement aimed at tarnishing the image of hon. Chairman (El-Sudi) is unwarranted describing it as a high level show of irresponsibility on the part of the leaders who are allegedly sponsoring it.
This according to the group, has led to Hon. El-Sudi being targeted by desperate and self-centered politicians in Taraba State and their proxies with the worst kind of character assassination, solely because he stands for justice, equity and fare play and refused to dance to their tunes.
They further revealed that there have been several attempts to hinder him from becoming the APC Chairman Taraba State counting obtaining Court Orders, tagging him with malicious names amongst others as some of those attempts at stopping him which failed hence the recent stage managed protest against him at the APC National Secretariat Abuja all in the bid to achieve their selfish interest.
The group called on such leaders to stop fanning the ember of discord and instigating crisis within party as it is likely to embarrass or have adverse effects on the party or can even bring the party to hatred and ridicule.
