Serge Kubwimana, who addressed the media accompanied by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka, Director of Organisation, Prof. Ussiju Medaner and other members of the UNEAD delegation, said, UNEAD is in Nigeria in response to a request for electoral support for the UN to assess the overall context in which the election will take place and see in what form they could potentially bring their contribution to the 2023 elections.
He said, they have conferred with the APC National Secretary on behalf of the National Chairman and they have done the same with other stakeholders such as INEC, government, civil society organizations, other major political parties, faith based organizations, inter-party advisory council among others.
According to the visitors, they came to express their intent to contribute to a peaceful and inclusive process next year and to see where they can be of value adding that the country has strong institutions and the ability to run its elections but there are issues though Nigeria is not the only place where there are issues around elections as such, their role is to see how they can support one of their member states.
