President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan says as soon as the Electoral Act 2021 is returned to the Legislature by the Executive, the National Assembly will commence work immediately to expunge section 84.12 from it.
The Senate President made the pledge on Friday while speaking to State House Correspondents who witnessed the signing ceremony.
Lawan said the signing has given INEC the legal powers to produce the best electoral exercise, starting with the Ekiti governorship election to the 2023 general elections.
He described the signing as a fulfilment of a major cardinal objective of the National Assembly.
