NCDC Restricts Health Declaration Forms To Travellers From EVD-Affected Countries
Travellers from countries with active or relevant Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) transmission may now be required to complete Nigeria’s Health Declaration Form, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has announced.
In an interim public health advisory dated 22 September 2026, the NCDC said passengers from all other countries are currently exempt from completing the form.
The measure follows a dynamic risk assessment of the ongoing EVD outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), alongside consultations with public health experts and the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
The NCDC urged the public to remain vigilant for symptoms consistent with EVD and promptly seek medical attention, while disclosing relevant travel or exposure history where applicable.
It said Nigeria’s preparedness measures remain ongoing in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, FAAN, Port Health Services, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, State Ministries of Health, WHO and Africa CDC.
