TCN Unveils Anti-Corruption Policy To Tighten Accountability

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has unveiled a new Anti-Corruption Policy Document aimed at tightening ethical standards, transparency and accountability across the power transmission company.
The policy was unveiled on Tuesday at TCN’s Corporate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, through the company’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).
Representing the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, said TCN’s credibility depended not only on its achievements but also on how those achievements were delivered.
She urged staff to familiarise themselves with the policy and apply its principles in their daily decisions, stressing that the document was designed to promote honesty, fairness, accountability, transparency and professionalism, while reinforcing TCN’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption.
Earlier, ACTU Chairman, Mrs E. Benibo, said the policy represented a collective commitment by management and staff to strengthening integrity within the organisation.
She said corruption weakens institutions, erodes public trust and wastes resources, making the responsibility for tackling it one that rests with every member of staff.
Presenting an overview of the policy, the ICPC representative and ACTU Desk Officer attached to TCN, Mrs Monsurat Ajoke Ifeajika, said the document provides guidance on preventing, detecting, reporting and responding to unethical and corrupt practices.
The highlight of the event was the formal unveiling of the anti-corruption policy document, which TCN said would serve as a guide for ethical decision-making and institutional accountability.
