Terror Logistics Network Hit As Troops Intercept 10 Motorcycles Bound For Suspected Kingpin In Kebbi
A major breakthrough against terrorist supply chains has seen troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA disrupt an alleged logistics network by intercepting 10 brand new motorcycles reportedly destined for a notorious terrorist leader in Kebbi State.
The operation, carried out by troops of Sector 2 on Monday along the Biu–Kangiwa axis in Arewa Local Government Area, led to the arrest of six suspected logistics suppliers.
Security sources said two suspects, Salisu Mohammad, 35, and Bashir Musa, 36, were initially arrested while transporting the motorcycles, concealed in cartons inside a commercial bus.
Preliminary investigations indicated the consignment was allegedly meant for a suspected terrorist kingpin, Mallam Gehowa, believed to be operating around the Amogoro axis.
Acting on the intelligence, troops launched a follow-up operation and arrested four more suspects who were reportedly sent to receive the motorcycles.
The six suspects, the 10 motorcycles and the commercial bus have been handed over to the Kebbi State Command of the Department of State Services (DSS) for further investigation.
The operation highlights ongoing efforts by Operation FANSAN YAMMA to dismantle terrorist logistics networks and cut off supplies sustaining criminal groups across Nigeria’s North-West.
