Police Record Major Breakthroughs Across Nigeria, Rescue Kidnap Victim, Arrest Suspects
Nigeria Police operatives have intensified their nationwide offensive against violent crime, recording a string of successes that underscore sustained efforts to curb kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism and other criminal activities across the country.
In the latest operational update, the Police rescued a 16-year-old kidnapping victim, Hafiza Rabiu, during a gun battle with suspected bandits in Katsina State.
The victim was rescued unharmed after operatives engaged the criminals in a fierce exchange of fire, forcing them to flee with gunshot wounds.
The operations also led to the dismantling of a kidnapping syndicate in Rivers State, the arrest of suspected armed robbers in Ondo, suspected kidnappers and cultists in Delta, as well as the apprehension of cult suspects in Osun and Imo states.
Across Benue, Akwa Ibom and Taraba states, operatives recovered several firearms and ammunition in separate intelligence-led operations, while in Oyo State, two suspects were arrested over the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl and are expected to face prosecution.
The Nigeria Police said investigations and follow-up operations remain ongoing to apprehend fleeing suspects and recover additional exhibits.
