FCC Pushes Reform Agenda As Omidiran Targets Public Trust, National Cohesion
The Federal Character Commission (FCC) is seeking to rebuild public confidence and strengthen national cohesion through reforms aimed at making the institution more transparent, responsive and effective.
FCC Executive Chairman, Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, said the Commission must evolve to meet Nigerians’ growing expectations for fairness, inclusion and accountability in governance.
Omidiran spoke at the opening of the Commission’s 2026 Executive and Management Leadership Retreat in Ikogosi-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
She said the retreat would strengthen collaboration between the Board and Management, improve institutional capacity and develop practical strategies for delivering on the FCC’s constitutional mandate.
Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, pledged support for the reform agenda, describing the FCC as critical to promoting equity, social justice and national unity.
The five-day retreat, which ends on Saturday, July 11, is expected to produce practical recommendations for improving the Commission’s effectiveness, credibility and relevance.
