Integrity and Multiple Skills Key To Career Success, Dame Nneka Tells Professionals
A strong professional reputation is built not only on expertise but also on integrity and the willingness to evolve with changing times, Deputy Director of the National Gallery of Art, Dame Nneka Ijeoma, has said.
Deputy Director of the National Gallery of Art, Dame Nneka Ijeoma, has urged professionals to uphold integrity, safeguard their credibility and embrace diverse skills to remain competitive in today’s dynamic workplace.
Speaking at the League of Anambra Journalists Abuja (LAJA) meeting on 2 July, Dame Nneka said ethical conduct and professionalism should never be compromised, regardless of one’s career path.
“Your personality and your credibility matter. The ethics of the profession must always come first,” she said.
The chartered accountant and member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) revealed that, alongside her public service career, she has built successful ventures in cake baking, yoghurt production, event planning and catering.
She noted that she currently serves as a zonal leader of the International Cake Exploration Society (ICES), describing continuous learning and resilience as key drivers of her success.
Recalling that she began her career in banking with First Bank Investment, Dame Nneka encouraged young professionals to remain focused, uphold ethical standards and continually develop new competencies while staying true to their core profession.
