Rafsanjani Bags Transparency International’s Top Global Anti-Corruption Award
Nigeria’s anti-corruption advocacy has received another global boost as the Executive Director of the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) and Head of Transparency International Nigeria, Auwal Ibrahim Musa Rafsanjani, won one of Transparency International’s highest honours for his outstanding contributions to transparency and accountability.
Rafsanjani received the Transparency International Amalia Award for Individual Professional Excellence during the organisation’s Movement Awards Ceremony held on July 1 in Berlin, Germany, marking the close of the TI Summit 2026.
The prestigious award, named after the late Amalia Kostanyan, former Chair of Transparency International Armenia, recognises individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation and commitment in advancing the global fight against corruption.
Transparency International Chair, François Valérian, praised Rafsanjani’s unwavering commitment to anti-corruption reforms, noting that his leadership has elevated Transparency International Nigeria’s profile through impactful advocacy, policy engagement and regional collaboration.
Reacting to the honour, Rafsanjani dedicated the award to the CISLAC team, partners and anti-corruption advocates, reaffirming his commitment to promoting democratic governance, institutional reforms and accountability across Nigeria, Africa and beyond.
The recognition further cements CISLAC’s growing influence within the global anti-corruption movement and its continued drive for transparency and good governance.
